La ética en la actividad docente e investigativa desde las ciencias médicas en Cuba

    Introducción: en el ámbito académico de las ciencias médicas, la ética en la actividad docente e investigativa debe orientarse al respeto de la dignidad humana y la fiabilidad de los hallazgos porque permite fomentar valores ineludiblemente humanistas.Objetivo: realizar una revisión sistemática acerca de la ética en la actividad docente e investigativa desde las ciencias médicas en Cuba.Métodos: se realizó una revisión documental sobre el tema, en bases de datos Scielo, Pubmed, Scopus, Redalyc y repositorio de tesis doctorales en Infomed de los últimos 10 años, entre el 31 de mayo de 2013 y el 31 de mayo de 2023, así como normativas vigentes del Ministerio de Salud Pública de Cuba relacionadas con la ética. Las palabras clave utilizadas fueron: educación, ética, investigación, ética investigativa y sus equivalentes en inglés. Inicialmente fueron seleccionados 89 artículos. Luego se obtuvieron 25, que cumplían los criterios de inclusión.Desarrollo: desde el contexto docente e investigativo se demuestra la importancia de la integración de la ética a los procesos desarrollados en el ámbito de las ciencias médicas, así como la pertinencia del trabajo de los comités de ética institucionales y el rechazo a las malas prácticas en el acto de publicación como el plagio, la falta de honestidad y originalidad en los resultados.Conclusiones: se valoró la importancia de las posturas éticas en la docencia e investigación, con apego a la veracidad científica y el respeto a la dignidad humana.

    Background: in the academic field of medical sciences, ethics in teaching and research activity must be oriented towards respect for human dignity and the reliability of findings because it allows the promotion of inescapably humanistic values.Objective: to carry out a systematic review of ethics in teaching and research activities in the medical sciences in Cuba.Methods: a documentary review on the topic was carried out in Scielo, PubMed, Scopus , Redalyc databases and the repository of doctoral theses in Infomed from the last 10 years, from May 31, 2013 to  May 31, 2023, as well as current regulations of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health related to ethics. The key words used were education, ethics, research, research ethics and their equivalents in English. Initially 89 articles were selected. Then 25 were obtained, which met the inclusion criteria.Development: from the teaching and research context, the importance of integrating ethics into the processes developed in the field of medical sciences is demonstrated, as well as the relevance of the work of institutional ethics committees and the rejection of bad practices in the act of publication such as plagiarism, the lack of honesty and originality in the results.Conclusions: the importance of ethical positions in teaching and research was valued, with adherence to scientific veracity and respect for human dignity.
