Este artículo presenta el trabajo sobre un libro impreso en Colonia en 1567. Es la primera parte de una obra que continuó en 1572. Después de tres ediciones más llegó a tener ocho libros (1602). Es considerada la primera obra publicada sobre Historia de las Universidades. Naturalmente fue escrita en latín. En este texto hay muchas citas y referencias de diversas fuentes. Eso era habitual en una obra académica del siglo dieciséis. Con el fin de atraer la atención sobre ella, ofrecemos una selección de citas curiosas e incluso pintorescas, con algunos comentarios apropiados también. Creemos que a Luis Gil le habría gustado.

This article presents the work on a book printed in Cologne in 1567. It is the first part of a work that continued in 1572. After three further editions it became an eight books series (1602). It is considered the first published work on the History of the Universities. Obviously it was written in Latin. In this text there are many quotes and references from various sources. That was usual in a sixteenth-century scholarly work. In order to draw attention to it, we offer a selection of curious and even picturesque quotations, with some appropriate comments as well. We believe Luis Gil would have liked it.
