Preferencias de formatos televisivos y sexismo ambivalente en estudiantes de ciencias de la comunicación

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la diferencia de sexismo ambivalente, tanto hostil como benévolo, en estudiantes de una universidad particular de Lima Metropolitana, Perú, de acuerdo con sus preferencias de formatos televisivos. Es de enfoque cuantitativo, correlacional, ya que buscó determinar la correlación existente entre la variable formatos televisivos y sexismo ambivalente. Abordó una muestra representativa de 214 alumnos a través del instrumento denominado La encuesta de preferencias televisivas, de elaboración propia. Aplicado el instrumento se halló un mayor puntaje del formato deportes que privilegia el sexismo hostil, en detrimento de otros formatos tales como los magazines, telenovelas, concursos, noticieros y realities. Se llegó a la conclusión de que existe una marcada diferencia en sexismo hostil, mientras que el sexismo benévolo presentó una significancia marginal. Ello debido a la histórica marginación de la mujer frente al institucionalizado rol machista del hombre.

    The objective of this research was to determine the difference in ambivalent sexism, both hostile and benevolent, in students ata private university in Metropolitan Lima, Peru, according to their preferences for television formats. It is of a quantitative, correlational approach sinceit sought to determine the existing correlation between the variable television formats and ambivalent sexism. It approached a representative sample of 214 students through the instrument called the survey of television preferences, of its own elaboration. When the instruments were applied, a higher score was found for the sports format that favors hostile sexism, to the detriment of other formats such as magazines, soap operas, contests, newscasts, and reality shows.It was concluded that there is a marked difference in hostile sexism, while benevolent sexism presented a marginal significance. This is due to the historical marginalization of women in the face of the institutionalized macho role of men.
