    El articulo analiza el surgimiento y evolución del estado argentino, precisando las particularidades que lo apartan de la experiencia de los países centrales. Primero se discute el concepto de Estado moderno y sus principales características. Posteriormente, se analiza el origen y consolidación del estado en la Argentina para pasar seguidamente a presentar los tres “estadios” que acompañaron su evolución: el capitalismo oligárquico, la matriz estado- céntrica y la desestatización. Se argumenta que estas etapas no pueden asimilarse a los tres modelos de estado clásicos de los estudios de los países centrales: el estado liberal, el estado keynesiano de bienestar, y el estado postsocial. Finalmente, el articulo analiza el estadio del Estado argentino en la actualidad.

    The article analyzes the emergence and evolution of the Argentine state, specifying the particularities that set it apart from the experience of the central countries. First, the concept of the modern state and its main characteristics are discussed. Subsequently, the origin and consolidation of the state in Argentina are analyzed, followed by a presentation of the three “stages” that accompanied its evolution: oligarchic capitalism, the state-centric matrix, and destatization. It is argued that these stages cannot be assimilated into the three classical state models of central country studies: the liberal state, the Keynesian welfare state, and the post-social state. Finally, the article analyzes the stage the Argentine state is facing nowadays.
