Del “Griselda” a “Lo somni”

  El Griselda de Metge, traducción del Griseldis de Petrarca al catalán, de hecho es un retorno al original boccaccesco, dada la afinidad del notario barcelonés con el autor del Decamerón. Este primer posicionamiento se acentúa en Lo somni, como muestran diversas referencias; entre ellas, es llamativa la vinculación manifiesta en el IV libro citando aquella traducción y la fuente oculta de la Senil XVII, 2 a principios del I y IV libros del gran diálogo. Todo ello confirma la corrección de Metge a Petrarca, concibiendo no sólo otra moral sino también otro tipo de literatura

  The Metge’s Griselda, translation of the Griseldis of Petrarca into Catalan, is in fact a return to the original boccaccesque, given the affinity of the Barcelona notary with the author of the Decameron. This first positioning is accentuated in Lo Somni, as shown by several references; the linkage manifested in the IV book is striking, citing its translation and the hidden source of Senil XVII, 2 at the beginning of the I and IV books of the great dialogue. All this confirms the correction of Metge to Petrarch, conceiving not only another moral but also another type of literature.
