Acerca del origen del topónimo al-Andalus

  En el presente estudio se presenta el posible origen griego del topónimo alAndalus. Se considera incuestionable el origen griego, en la palabra Anatolḗ, a través de la evolución Anadolu, y luego el topónimo al-Andalus (origen del posterior de Andalucía). Se argumenta en base al primer documento en que aparece esta palabra: las monedas bilingües (en árabe y en latín) y gran parte de la demostración se ha dedicado a describir el contexto en que se produjo este cambio de nombre, de Spania a al-Andalus

  In the study is presented the probable Greek origin of the toponym alAndalus We consider that the origin of the word al-Andalus is clearly in the Greek Anatolḗ, which later evolved to Anadolu, and then the place name al-Andalus (origin of the nowadays Andalucía). It is argued based on the first document in which the word alAndalus appeared: the bilingual coins (Arabic-Latin) that offer an iconographic motif of paramount importance. The main part of the paper has devoted itself to describe the context in which there happened this change of name, of Spania to al-Andalus.
