Diccionarios y trompetazos en la prensa satírica durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX

    La relación entre diccionario y prensa ha sido puesta de relieve en la doble vertiente que ofrece la óptica crítica y el sentido de autoridad. También se ha destacado el hecho de que los acontecimientos políticos sucedidos en el transcurso del siglo xix dieron lugar a la publicación de obritas que, bajo el título de diccionarios, aportaban una visión cómica y burlesca de aquellos. La prensa de ese periodo se hizo eco de este proceder de recopilación léxica que tenía una finalidad concreta, aportando valiosos materiales que permiten conocer el uso de las palabras para transmitir una ideología, un descontento social o una crítica, por ejemplo. En este trabajo, se intentará crear un inventario de algunos de estos repertorios, publicados en la segunda mitad del siglo xix. De ellos se sabe que disponían de extensión variable y se editaban, generalmente, en diversas entregas en la prensa de carácter satírico. Se tendrán en cuenta los periódicos editados en Madrid, así como los aparecidos en la prensa de regiones periféricas. En ellos resulta fácil constatar la adaptación del léxico habitual hacia valores semánticos marcados por esa óptica crítica y adaptados a la realidad de la sociedad del momento. No obstante, el objetivo de este trabajo consiste en localizar este tipo de producción textual, contextualizarla en la sociedad y el entorno geográfico y ofrecer las principales características del léxico reunido en esos repertorios

    The relationship between dictionaries and the press has been highlighted from the double perspective offered by the critical viewpoint and the sense of authority. It has also been pointed out that the political events of the 19th century gave rise to the publica-tion of little works which, under the title of dictionaries, provided a comic and burlesque view of them. The press of that period echoed this process of lexical compilation, which had a specific purpose, providing valuable materials that allow us to learn about the use of words to convey an ideology, social discontent or criticism, for example. This paper will attempt to create an inventory of some of these repertories, published in the second half of the 19th century. It is known that they varied in length and were generally published in several issues in the satirical press. The newspapers published in Madrid will be taken into account, as well as those that appeared in the press in outlying regions. In them, it is easy to observe the adaptation of the usual lexicon towards semantic values marked by this critical viewpoint and adapted to the reality of the society of the time. However, the aim of this work is to locate this type of textual production, to contextualise it in the society and geographical environment and to offer the main characteristics of the lexicon gathered in these repertoires
