    El presente artículo recoge buena parte de la información referente a la historia de la primitiva iglesia parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Paz de Villanueva de la Fuente (Ciudad Real), desde su fundación en las primeras décadas del siglo XIII hasta su ruina y abandono a comienzos del siglo XIX, cuando el culto y los oficios religiosos fueron trasladados definitivamente a la antigua ermita del Santo Cristo del Consuelo, donde se reedificó la parroquia actual a partir de 1940.

    This article collects much of the information regarding the history of the primitive parish church of Our Lady of Peace in Villanueva de la Fuente (Ciudad Real), from its foundation in the first decades of the 13th century to its ruin and abandonment in the beginnings of the 19th century, when worship and religious services were definitively transferred to the old hermitage of Holy Christ of Consolation, where the current parish was rebuilt from 1940.
