    El presente estudio analiza los mitos que aparecen en la obra "El señor presidente" de Miguel Ángel Asturias. Esta investigación se basa en un análisis hermenéutico de la narrativa para identificar cómo los mitos reflejan la realidad cultural y social de Latinoamérica. En el marco teórico, se examina el concepto del mito, sus características y funciones, según diversos teóricos. Los mitos en la obra de Asturias se categorizan en varios tipos: dualidad, tiempo, muerte, amor, poder, libertad, hombre y religioso. Metodológicamente, el estudio utiliza un diseño descriptivo, apoyado en textos narrativos especializados y fichas de investigación literaria.  El objetivo de esta investigación fue interpretar los mitos en la novela "El señor presidente" de Miguel Ángel Asturias, desde una perspectiva social del mito. La obra encapsula aspectos fundamentales de la identidad latinoamericana. Los personajes representan arquetipos míticos que reflejan tanto realidades históricas de América Latina como verdades universales sobre el poder y la resistencia. En conclusión, "El señor presidente" ofrece una profunda crítica de la tiranía y la opresión a través de sus personajes, símbolos y estructuras narrativas mitológicas. La novela resuena como una reflexión sobre la condición humana y la lucha contra el poder de la corrupción, destacando la relevancia de estos temas en el mundo contemporáneo y ofreciendo valiosas lecciones para las generaciones futuras.

    This study analyzes the myths that appear in the work “El señor presidente” by Miguel Ángel Asturias. This research is based on a hermeneutic analysis of the narrative to identify how myths reflect the cultural and social reality of Latin America. In the theoretical framework, the concept of myth, its characteristics and functions, according to various theorists, are examined. The myths in Asturias' work are categorized into several types: duality, time, death, love, power, freedom, man and religious. Methodologically, the study uses a descriptive design, supported by specialized narrative texts and literary research sheets. The objective of this research was to interpret the myths in the novel “El señor presidente” by Miguel Ángel Asturias, from a social perspective of myth. The work encapsulates fundamental aspects of Latin American identity. The characters represent mythical archetypes that reflect both Latin American historical realities and universal truths about power and resistance. In conclusion, “El señor presidente” offers a profound critique of tyranny and oppression through its characters, symbols and mythological narrative structures. The novel resonates as a reflection on the human condition and the struggle against the power of corruption, highlighting the relevance of these themes in the contemporary world and offering valuable lessons for future generations.
