Resumen de Susurros en los muros: historia de un fragmento de sefer Torah oculto

Este estudio aborda la interpretación del manuscrito hispanohebreo datado de finales del siglo XV (o principios del XVI) descubierto por Arturo Ruiz Taboada durante una intervención arqueológica en la calle Caños de Oro (Toledo). El fragmento, a pesar de estar incompleto y deteriorado, no impide el reconocimiento del emblemático pasaje conocido como Širat hayam «Cántico del mar» del sefer Torah en el que se enmarca. Este breve ejercicio hermenéutico, histórico y filológico constituye, quizá, una pieza informativa útil que pueda encajar en el puzle de un periodo convulso cuyas circunstancias sociopolíticas en la península estuvieron marcadas por la Inquisición y las relaciones interconfesionales.

Despite being incomplete and deteriorated, the emblematic passage known as Širat hayam ‘Canticle of the sea’ of a Sefer Torah is easily recognizable into verses of the fragment discovered by Arturo Ruiz Taboada in Caños de Oro Street (Toledo). Dated at the end of the 15th century (maybe at the beginning of the 16th century), the likely connection between the Hebrew Spanish manuscript and the converso universe may contribute to the aim of better understanding of an enormous complex period in the Iberian Peninsula whose socio-political circumstances were seriously both affected by the actuation of Inquisition and the interconfessional relationships.
