Los implantes subdérmicos en Facebook: Usuarias latinoamericanas, agencia y adherencia

    Este artículo analiza las interacciones en el grupo de Facebook Implante anticonceptivo (dudas), creado en 2015 y conformado por casi veintidós mil usuarias del método de diecisiete países de América Latina. Se trata de un espacio virtual donde dichas mujeres realizan consultas sobre ese anticonceptivo a otras integrantes del grupo. Allí comparten información sobre el acceso, la colocación y la extracción del artefacto, pero los tópicos más frecuentes se refieren a experiencias sobre los efectos adversos y la eficacia. A través de un registro etnográfico, profundiza en las interacciones que construyen la identidad del grupo, en las dinámicas que allí delimitan cómo debe ser la relación de las usuarias con el método, y cómo disputan significados con los guiones prescriptos para los implantes por parte de la industria farmacéutica y el saber médico. Focaliza en los sentidos que les atribuyen a esos dispositivos, a sus efectos y al cuerpo femenino.

    This article analyzes the interactions in the Facebook group Contraceptive implant (doubts), created in 2015 and made up of almost twenty-two thousand users of the method from seventeen Latin American countries. It is a virtual space where these women make inquiries about this contraceptive to other members of the group. There they share information about access, placement and extraction of the artifact, but the most frequent topics refer to experiences about adverse effects and efficacy. Through an ethnographic record, it delves into the interactions that build the identity of the group, into the dynamics that define how the relationship of the users with the method should be, and how they dispute meanings with the scripts prescribed for the implants by the users. the pharmaceutical industry and medical knowledge. It focuses on the meanings attributed to these devices, their effects and the female body.
