Resumen de Psicología clínica, medicina conductual y psicología de la salud: diferencias y similitudes

  Es común que se utilicen sin distinción los términos psicología de la salud y psicología clínica, y aunque el término medicina conductual tiene una connotación diferente, es necesario conocer sus características. Por tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo es diferenciar funciones y características de la psicología de la salud, la medicina conductual y de la psicología clínica como material de apoyo didáctico. Se ofrece una infografía comparativa en la cual se describen similitudes y diferencias entre las tres especialidades. Aunque estas tienen puntos de convergencia, no deben usarse indistintamente porque las dos primeras se llevan a cabo dentro de instituciones de salud y se involucra alguna condición de salud mientras que, la tercera no necesariamente se implica la salud física. La psicología de la salud y la psicología clínica se pueden abordar desde diversas tradiciones teóricas, pero la medicina conductual, solo desde la teoría de la conducta

  It is common for the term’s health psychology and clinical psychology to be used without distinction, and although the term behavioral medicine has a different connotation, it is necessary to know its characteristics. Therefore, the objective of this work is to differentiate functions and characteristics of health psychology, behavioral medicine, and clinical psychology as teaching support material. A comparative infographic is offered in which similarities and differences between the three specialties are described. Although these have points of convergence, they should not be used interchangeably because the first two are carried out within health institutions and involve some health condition, while the third does not necessarily involve physical health. Health psychology and clinical psychology can be approached from various theoretical traditions, but behavioral medicine can only be approached from behavioural theory.
