La población adulta mayor se ha incrementado con el paso del tiempo, bajo algunas circunstancias requieren la asistencia de un cuidador para llevar a cabo las actividades de la vida diaria. La relación entre adultos mayores y sus cuidadores implica una interacción permeada por emociones positivas y negativas que facilitan o dificultan el cumplimiento de los objetivos del cuidado. Se recomienda fortalecer la relación interpersonal entre esta diada para procurar la salud emocional de ambos integrantes.

The elderly population has increased over time, under some circumstances they require the assistance of a caregiver to carry out activities of daily living. The relationship between older adults and their caregivers implies an interaction permeated by positive and negative emotions that facilitate or hinder the accomplishment of care objectives. It is recommended to strengthen the interpersonal relationship between this dyad to ensure the emotional health of both members.
