Resumen de En defensa del tejueleo, del bosque y del tejuelero

El artículo busca poner en consideración los vínculos que se establecen entre el tejuelero y el bosque a partir del oficio artesanal del tejueleo. Se trata de relevar la relación que el oficio ha permitido tradicionalmente establecer entre humanos y plantas y, a partir de ella, verificar la emergencia de territorios otros, territorios de esperanza que cuestionan, de alguna manera, miradas medioambientalistas sobre dichos vínculos. En base a trabajos anteriores se continúa profundizando en maneras de hacer mundo que humanos y plantas, en este caso los bosques de alerce del sur de Chile han permitido indagar. A partir de una metodología etnográfica y en base a conversaciones y entrevistas con tejueleros, se llega a resultados considerables sobre la influencia del bosque en las personas y el modo en que las afectaciones mutuas permiten acceder a formas de habitar y representar los territorios. El diseño es abordado materialmente a partir de las tejuelas, no tanto por sus usos diversos, sino por su propia materialidad, esto es, el ser madera de alerce y provenir de un bosque concreto. Es desde esa materialidad vegetal que las tejuelas dan cuenta de una relación biocultural, afectiva y memorial entre artesanos y alerces. El artículo propone, a su vez, nuevas vidas de estas materialidades, como también la continuidad de oficios asociados a las tejuelas.

The article seeks to consider the links established between the weavers and the forest through the craft of weaving. The aim is to highlight the relationship that the craft has traditionally allowed to establish between humans and plants and, from this, to verify the emergence of other territories, territories of hope that question, in some way, environmentalist views on these links. On the basis of previous work, we continue to explore ways of making the world that humans and plants, in this case the alerce forests of southern Chile, have allowed us to investigate. Using an ethnographic methodology and on the basis of conversations and interviews with tejueleros, we arrive at considerable results on the influence of the forest on people and the way in which mutual affectations allow access to ways of inhabiting and representing the territories. The design is approached materially from the shingles, not so much for its diverse uses, but for its own materiality, that is, being larch wood and coming from a specific forest. It is from this vegetal materiality that the shingles give an account of a biocultural, affective and memorial relationship between artisans and larch trees. The article proposes, in turn, new lives of these materialities, as well as the continuity of trades associated with the shingles.

O artigo busca considerar os vínculos estabelecidos entre os tecelões e a floresta por meio do ofício da tecelagem. O objetivo é destacar a relação que o ofício tradicionalmente permite estabelecer entre humanos e plantas e, a partir disso, verificar o surgimento de outros territórios, territórios de esperança que questionam, de alguma forma, as visões ambientalistas sobre esses vínculos. Com base em trabalhos anteriores, continuamos a explorar maneiras de criar o mundo que os seres humanos e as plantas, neste caso as florestas de alerce do sul do Chile, nos permitiram investigar. Usando uma metodologia etnográfica e com base em conversas e entrevistas com tejueleros, chegamos a resultados consideráveis sobre a influência da floresta sobre as pessoas e a maneira pela qual as afeições mútuas permitem o acesso a formas de habitar e representar os territórios. O design é abordado materialmente a partir das telhas, não tanto por seus diversos usos, mas por sua própria materialidade, ou seja, por ser madeira de lariço e vir de uma floresta específica. É a partir dessa materialidade vegetal que as telhas dão conta de uma relação biocultural, afetiva e memorial entre os artesãos e os lariços. O artigo propõe, por sua vez, novas vidas dessas materialidades, bem como a continuidade dos ofícios associados às telhas.
