The event that made the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua famous was undoubtedly Goethe's visit at the end of September 1786. However, its history is much longer, and today a new museum reconstructs it through a skillful alternation of interactive analog and digital exhibits. Opened in February2023, the Botanical Museum is a well-designed space engaging in a dialogue with the other parts of this UNESCO cultural site: the Renaissance Garden, the greenhouses of the Biodiversity Garden, and the Voncenzo Pinali and Giovanni Marsili Historical Library of Medicine and Botany. Although included amongthese ancient and undoubtedly prestigious institutions, the museum possesses its own intrinsic value, thanks to a permanent exhibition that leverages the advancements of both contemporary museology and the history of science
