  Las praderas de fanerógamas marinas en la bahía de Cádiz han sido ampliamente estudiadas por el grupo de investigación "Estructura y Dinámica de Ecosistemas Acuáticos" (EDEA) pertenecientes a la Universidad de Cádiz. En 2006, tomaron la iniciativa de crear el programa de voluntariado y educación ambiental FAMAR, con el objetivo de acercar la ciencia a la sociedad, empezando desde las aulas. La actividad contribuye a crear una conciencia ambiental entre los que serán los ciudadanos del futuro.

  The seagrass beds in Cadiz bay have been widely studied by the group "Structure and Dynamics of Aquatic Ecosystems" (EDEA) at University of Cadiz. In 2006, they took the initiative to create the volunteer program and environmental education FAMAR, with the aim of bringing science to society, starting from the school. The activity contributes to environmental awareness among the citizens of the future.
