Resumen de La negazione nei dialetti della Svizzera italiana

Diego Pescarini, Giulia Donzelli

  • This paper deals with the syntax of negation and negative concord in Swiss Lombard dialects. It focuses on data from the AIS and novel data recently collected in the very same AIS datapoints. On the basis of this evidence, we aim to provide a fine-grained description of the evolution of various patterns of negation across space and time. We examine different syntactic contexts (indicative/subjunctive clauses, main/embedded clauses, exclamative/interrogative clauses, imperative/hortative clauses, etc. and several patterns of negative concord) in order to pin down the factors hindering or triggering the evolution across different stages of the so-called Jespersen cycle.
