The raise of Latino students in K-12 urban schools suggests the school system should implement a social justice and multicultural leadership vision to help nonLatino teachers connect with their Latino students. Teachers’ understanding of cultural capital, cultural wealth and strong cultural strategies in the classroom play a significant role in Latino students’ education. Therefore, principals need to change their school vision to include training and mentorship programs to guide novice and expert teachers on how to include multicultural and social justice approaches in their curricula. To do so, principals also need the support of different educational stakeholders, inside and outside of the school setting, to comply with the different needs of Latino student.
