  The reunion released in Portuguese of several works by Leibniz, with the well-defined name of “The Art of Controversies” (with the organization and layout published by the work of Marcelo Dascal) allows us access to important opinions, insights, ethical positions, political and theological, as well as complete notions contained in his work about philosophy and its repercussions. There is, with great clarity and propriety, a theoretical-methodological proposal that consists of systematizing human knowledge and sciences, affirming and directing their uses and functions in all possible areas of practical life. This text aims to demonstrate the importance of the aspect of controversy and philosophical disputes in the construction of Leibniz's theoretical framework. We are following the Leibnizian philosophy concerned with the forms of negotiation between different points of view and conciliation between the existence of different ways in which thought manifests itself, consolidating an ars disputandi, through the development of both ars inveniendi and ars judicandi. In this way, we intend to demonstrate how Leibniz seeks to reconcile disparate and competing philosophical proposals about the world and also, how reason becomes the great engine of this movement of bringing to light the most diverse points of view on a certain fundamental theme for human development.

  A coletânea lançada em língua portuguesa de diversos opúsculos de Leibniz, com o nome bem definido de “A Arte das controvérsias” (com a organização e a disposição publicada pelo trabalho de Marcelo Dascal), nos permite o acesso a importantes opiniões, insights, posições éticas, políticas e teológicas, bem como de noções completas contidas em sua obra acerca da filosofia e suas repercussões; há, com muita clareza e propriedade, uma proposta teórico-metodológica que consiste em sistematizar o conhecimento humano e as ciências, afirmando e direcionando suas utilidades e funções em todos os terrenos possíveis da vida prática. Esse texto se propõe a demonstrar a importância do aspecto da controvérsia e das disputas filosóficas na construção do arcabouço teórico de Leibniz. Estamos no encalço da filosofia leibniziana preocupada com as formas de negociação entre distintos pontos de vista e conciliação entre a existência das distintas maneiras pelas quais o pensamento se manifesta, consolidando uma ars disputandi, através do desenvolvimento tanto da ars inveniendi como da ars judicandi. Pretendemos, dessa forma, demonstrar como Leibniz procura conciliar propostas filosóficas díspares e concorrentes de mundo e, ainda, como a razão torna-se a grande engrenagem desse movimento de trazer à luz os mais diversos pontos de vista sobre um determinado tema fundamental para o desenvolvimento humano.
