  • In 2022 Guercino's striking image of the Old Testament prophet Moses was rediscovered after having been lost since the end of the eighteenth century. It is placed here within the context of Guercino's much-admired early style and the collecting practice of the D'Este family in Rome and Modena from the 1620s.
