Resumen de El problema de les llengües: imaginaris sociodiscursius sobre la diversitat lingüística a Espanya

In Spain, linguistic diversity has often been presented as a problem, to the point that there are different discourses (public and private) that reject the languages of the State other than Spanish, as Catalan. In this article, I analyze the discourses against linguistic diversity that circulate through the social network X (formerly Twitter), as well as the arguments used to justify them. The starting hypothesis is that in a part of Spanish society there is a socio-discursive imaginary that understands linguistic diversity as a problem, given that it questions the hegemony of the Spanish language and the unity of the state. Thus, based on a corpus of X posts, obtained through a digital ethnography method, the article reports on the different ideologies on languages and linguistic diversity that have been documented, such as debates about the value of different languages, the interested relationship often established between “regional languages” and nationalism, as well as the dichotomy between languages of the world (Spanish) and local languages (the rest), strongly linked to the concepts of anonymity and authenticity.

A l’Estat espanyol, la diversitat lingüística s’ha presentat sovint com un problema, fins al punt que hi ha diversos discursos (públics i privats) que rebutgen les llengües de l’Estat diferents del castellà, com ocorre amb el català. En aquest article, s’analitzen els discursos contraris a la diversitat lingüística que circulen a través de la xarxa X (abans Twitter), així com els arguments que s’esgrimeixen per a justificar-los. La hipòtesi de partida és que en una part de la societat espanyola impera un imaginari sociodiscursiu que entén la diversitat lingüística com un problema, atès que qüestiona l’hegemonia de la llengua castellana i la unitat de l’Estat. Així, a partir d’un corpus de publicacions de la xarxa X, obtingudes mitjançant un treball d’etnografia digital, l’article dona compte de les múltiples ideologies sobre les llengües i la diversitat lingüística que s’han documentat, com ho són els debats sobre el valor de les diverses llengües, la relació interessada que sovint s’estableix entre les “llengües regionals” i el nacionalisme, així com la dicotomia entre llengües del món (el castellà) i llengües d’un lloc (la resta), fortament lligades als conceptes d’anonimat i autenticitat.
