This research aims to discuss the different processes of occupation and use of spaces, as well as the construction of the multiple “Recife”, which have been unveiled from the archaeological studies carried out in the area of implementation of the Urban Requalification Project of the Recife neighborhood. In order to understand these various cities, within the same space, we will seek to establish interdisciplinary dialogues with Geography, Architecture, History, and, above all, with funerary Archeology, since among the buried cities, it has been possible to identify part of the subjects who acted in the scenario of these past “Reefs”. We will use the analytical tools of each of these fields of knowledge, including Pesavento, to understand the question of the transformation of spaces into places. Duday, to understand the spaces from the anthropology of the terrain, and Pearson Parker to understand the processes of archeotanatology. We will also use Hodder, in order to understand the materialities present in the space studied, in addition to Rolnick, Reis and Menezes, to have an understanding of the elements that were part of the development of the city of Recife over time, and finally, Certeau, with the intention of weaving from the bricolage process made possible by the different sources, weaving a unique narrative about the different “Recife”, which are still curtained by sediments and time.
