    Hoy en día, comprender los gráficos estadísticos es crucial, especialmente para interpretar información en los medios. La complejidad de esta tarea requiere habilidades específicas de alfabetización estadística. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar, describir y clasificar los factores que afectan la lectura e interpretación de gráficos en artículos periodísticos. El método utilizado es cualitativo y el análisis se basa en un modelo de alfabetización estadística que integra múltiples modelos existentes. El enfoque del análisis es cómo los ciudadanos interpretan estos gráficos. Los hallazgos muestran problemas significativos, especialmente en las preguntas que requieren inferencias o que presentan una gran complejidad relacionada con los gráficos.

    Today, understanding statistical graphs is essential, especially for interpreting information in the media. The complexity of this task requires specific statistical literacy skills. The purpose of this study is to analyze, describe, and classify the factors that affect the reading and interpretation of graphs in news articles. The method used is qualitative and the analysis is based on a statistical literacy model that integrates multiple existing models. The focus of the analysis is on how citizens interpret these graphs. The findings show significant problems, especially in questions that require inferences or that present a great deal of complexity related to the graphs.
