    En este trabajo nos ocupamos del comportamiento sintáctico del determinante "un, unos" en español. Partimos de una concepción de la proyección funcional nominal con distintos núcleos funcionales responsables de la determinación del sintagma. Asumimos, como es común en la bibliografía, que los determinantes definidos ocupan el núcleo Dº, mientras que los cuantificadores indefinidos se sitúan por debajo de Dº, en Cuº. La parte central de este trabajo se ocupa de comparar, por una parte, el artículo indefinido "un" y el numeral cardinal "un" y, por otra, el artículo indefinido plural "unos" y el cuantificador existencial "algunos". Nuestra conclusión es que el comportamiento sintáctico de "un, unos" se parece más al de los determinantes situados en Dº que al de los cuantificadores, sean cardinales o existenciales, es decir, que hay razones para pensar que se trata del artículo indefinido y no de un cuantificador.

    This paper analyses the syntactic behaviour of the Spanish determiners "un, unos". The assumption is that there exists a nominal functional projection with different functional nuclei which determine the phrase, and, as is common in the bibliography, that defined determiners occupy the Dº nucleus, whereas undefined quantifiers are below Dº, inCuº. The central part of this paper is concerned with comparing, on one hand, the indefinite article "un" and the cardinal number "un" and on the other hand, the plural indefinite article "unos" and the existential quantifier "unos". The conclusion I reach is that the syntactic behaviour of these elements is more similar to the behaviour of determiners in Dº than of the quantifiers, whether cardinal or existential, that is, there exist reasons to assume that they are cases of indefinite article and not quantifiers.
