  • Starting from an analysis of the reference service within academic libraries, this article focuses on the value of the service from an information literacy perspective. A combination that favours user training in both research tools (information literacy instruction) and the retrieval, evaluation and use of information (information literacy education), providing the tools to orient oneself in a world now dominated by information overload and infodemic. The reference service changes its aspect, it no longer corresponds only to the classic reference interview but educate the user in the search and evaluation of the resource.
