    El autor presenta problemáticas educativas que las ciencias sociales deberían considerar para hacer contribuciones en el presente contexto. Para ello reflexiona sobre tendencias de las sociedades actuales que son desafíos para estas disciplinas, destacando los que resultan más apremiantes para nuestra región. Propone objetivos y temas que deberían considerarse en los programas educativos desde una concepción de nuevo humanismo. Plantea como reto la construcción de una escuela justa que compromete, entre otras, a las instituciones superiores formadoras de profesores en ciencias sociales.

    The author presents educational problems that the social sciences should consider in order to make contributions in the present context. To this end, it describes trends in today's societies that are challenges for these disciplines, highlighting those that are most pressing for our region. It proposes objectives and themes that should be considered in educational programs from a conception of new humanism. It poses as a challenge the construction of a fair school that commits, among others, higher institutions that train teachers in social sciences.
