Resumen de Artillería en los conflictos bélicos, mirada estratégica del enfrentamiento bélico ruso-ucraniano

  Desde el análisis del concepto de artillería se busca comprender algunas de sus definiciones y propósitos que permitan establecer el porqué de su importancia para los Estados en el contexto internacional; ello a partir de un breve recorrido histórico, útil para asimilar la evolución de la artillería como pieza bélica desde sus orígenes (aproximadamente siglo XIII) hasta el presente. La comprensión conceptual desde las Relaciones Internacionales y la óptica Neorrealista facilita la comprensión de la posesión y uso de piezas de artillería, como expresión propia de la acumulación y proyección de poder Estatal en el Sistema Internacional, situación posible de observar en el marco de la confrontación bélica entre Ucrania y la Federación Rusa, desencadenada en febrero de 2022.

    La metodología de enfoque cualitativo y diseño en teoría fundamentada se emplea en este artículo junto con el recurso de análisis bibliométrico. Los hallazgos identificados entre el funcionamiento y los usos de la artillería permiten equipararla como mecanismo de proyección de poder; su relevancia militar (reflejada en la actualidad en el contexto bélico ruso-ucraniano) radica en la extensión del ataque posicional del poder de fuego, efectuado desde locaciones seguras con respecto a la ubicación de un frente de combate. En materia de relacionamiento entre actores del Sistema Internacional, el incremento del gasto militar en piezas de artillería agudiza la desconfianza entre los Estados en la medida en que aumenta la proyección de poder de sus adversarios.

  From the analysis of the concept of artillery it is intended to understand some of its definitions and purposes, which allow establishing the reason for its importance for States in the international context; This is based on a brief historical overview, useful to assimilate the evolution of artillery as a piece of warfare from its origins (approximately the 15th century) to the present. The conceptual understanding from International Relations and the Neorealist perspective, facilitates the understanding of the possession and use of artillery pieces, as an expression of the accumulation and projection of State power in the International System; situation possible to observe in the framework of the warlike confrontation between Ukraine and the Russian Federation unleashed in February 2022.

    The methodology of qualitative approach and grounded theory design is used in this article together with the resource of bibliometric analysis. The findings identified between the operation and the uses of the artillery, allow equating it as a mechanism of projection of power; It´s military relevance (currently reflected in the Russian-Ukrainian war context) lies in the extension of the positional attack of firepower, carried out from safe locations with respect to the location of a combat front. In terms of relations between actors of the International System, the increase in military spending on artillery pieces exacerbates mistrust between States, to the extent that the projection of power of their adversaries increases.
