Resumen de Los instrumentos de poder y su importancia para la Inteligencia Estratégica

En el sistema internacional los países buscan ejercer influencia y poder sobre otros para materializar sus intereses y prevalecer en el mismo. En los últimos cincuenta años EE.UU. ha sido una de las principales hegemonías del mundo; no obstante, tratar de entender cómo ha logrado su influencia y materializar sus intereses en el sistema internacional no sería sencillo, si no se entiende el concepto de instrumentos de poder. En este sentido, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de los conceptos de instrumentos de poder, planteados por Joseph Nye, y un análisis de los planteamientos de Worley Robert, que nos llevó a inducir que los países apalancan su poder o capacidades a través de los instrumentos de poder, conocidos bajo la sigla DIME (Diplomacia, Información, Militar, Economía), mediante los cuales buscan materializar su política exterior y ejercer influencia en otros actores del sistema internacional. Muchos de estos instrumentos no pueden ser identificados a simple vista, y es por esto que se hace imperioso que la Inteligencia Estratégica visibilice el empleo de estos por parte de otros actores internacionales, para orientar y diseñar una buena estrategia de seguridad nacional.

In the international system, countries seek to exert influence and power over others to materialize their interests and prevail in it. In the last fifty years, the United States has been one of the main hegemonies in the world, however, trying to understand how it has achieved its influence and materialize its interests in the international system would not be easy, if the concept of instruments is not understood of power. In this sense, a bibliographic review of the concepts of power instruments proposed by Joseph Nye, and an analysis of Worley Robert's approaches was carried out, which led us to induce that countries leverage their power or capacities through the instruments of power, known under the acronym DIME (Diplomacy, Information, Military, Economy) through which they seek to materialize their foreign policy and exert influence on other actors in the international system. Many of these instruments cannot be identified with the naked eye, and this is why it is imperative that strategic intelligence makes visible the use of these by other international actors, to guide and design a good national security strategy.
