Resumen de Incorporación de mapas topográficos estratégicos en dispositivos de Sistema de Posicionamiento Global para Inteligencia Militar

El propósito de este artículo es determinar la importancia de la instalación de una base de datos que contenga convenciones y simbología militar en los dispositivos de posicionamiento global (Global Position System, por sus siglas en inglés) Garmin Oregon 550T, con la intención de ser sobrepuestas en los mapas topográficos e imágenes satelitales, y así poder identificar las diversas actividades realizadas por los Grupos Armados al Margen de la Ley (GAML) en los últimos cinco años, contribuyendo al desarrollo tecnológico de las Fuerzas Militares con dispositivos con mayor grado de utilidad en el ambiente táctico y operacional. Para ello, el texto estará dividido en tres secciones. En la parte inicial se describirán las convenciones y simbología militar incorporadas a dichos dispositivos. Luego, se presenta un breve análisis de las actividades realizadas por el enemigo, las cuales se encuentran referenciadas en los GPS. Finalmente, se presentan algunas conclusiones.

The purpose of this article is to determine the importance of installing a database containing military conventions and symbology in the Garmin Oregon 550T Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, with the intention of being superimposed on topographic maps and satellite images, and thus be able to identify the various activities carried out by the Armed Groups Outside the Law (GAML) in the last five years, contributing to the technological development of the Military Forces with devices with a higher degree of usefulness in the tactical and operational environment. For this purpose, the text will be divided into three sections. The initial part will describe the military conventions and symbology incorporated into these devices. Then, a brief analysis of the activities carried out by the enemy, which are referenced in the GPS, will be presented. Finally, some conclusions are presented.
