In this paper we present the revision of two wells; one related to agricultural festivities located in Edeta (Llíria, València) and another linked to a funerary ritual in the necropolis of La Calerilla (Hortunas, Requena, València) and we incorporate the results of a new well related to a festive ritual and located in the village of Vinamargo (Castelló), archaeological sites located in the Hispania Tarraconensis territory. In all of them, the dogs acquire a relevant importance for being the most numerous sacrificial victims. Morphological characteristics and pathological evidence provide information on the diversity of morphotypes and the use of the species.
In addition, the pre- and post-treatment of some specimens shows the symbolism acquired by the dogs for this society according to the complexity and variety of rituals practiced during Roman times.
