Bolumini cave (Beniarbeig, Alacant) contains a stratigraphic sequence with levels from the Upper Pleistocene and Holocene that includes evidence of human occupation from the late Upper Paleolithic to the Iron Age. In the levels corresponding to the final Upper Paleolithic (Level Va and Level Vb), intense bird hunting is documented, focused on rockdwelling species such as the rock pigeon (Columba libia), the yellow-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax graculus) and the red-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax). In this work, the fauna of the Paleolithic levels (Level V) is described, and the hunting and bird consumption model is characterized.
The results are integrated with those obtained in other contemporary sites in the territory.
