    La obra se abre con un amplio pórtico, titulado 500 años después: amores y desamores entre hermanos, señalando que el anticolonialismo visceral con el derrumbe de estatuas de colonizadores. La estructura del libro es la siguiente: En la Parte I, se presentan los resultados por países de las distintas temáticas tratadas, como los hechos y personajes más importantes de su país, el racismo y perjuicios frente a los diferentes, las imágenes negativas y positivas sobre la colonización de América, la confianza en las instituciones, los problemas más importantes, los valores y contravalores de machismo, sexismo, moral sexual, religiosidad y nivel de felicidad. En las partes siguientes se presentan las variaciones de género, edad, nivel de estudios, religiosidad y opciones políticas, la comparativa desde la encuesta de 1993 a 2019, analizando los profundos cambios.
