Resumen de ¿Es necesario un acto de ser? la raíz del tomismo en cuestión

En las últimas décadas, algunos de los enfoques que han tomado en consideración la doctrina del acto de ser tomista (actus essendi) han llegado a con-clusiones a veces drásticas sobre la originalidad de la que es la enseñanza más importante de Tomás de Aquino. En efecto, su filosofía del ser se basa en la relación acto-potencia entre forma y ser, así como en la distinción real de esencia y ser, derivada de ella. En este estudio queremos afrontar un doble reto: el de justificar por qué es necesario un acto de ser en la metafísica tomista, y el de mostrar por qué esta actualidad (esse) no se identifica con la existencia o el ser de la cosa, como ha pretendido la escuela tomista durante su trayectoria.

In recent decades, some of the approaches that have taken into con-sideration the doctrine of the Thomistic act of being (actus essendi) have reached sometimes drastic conclusions regarding the originality of what is the most impor-tant teaching of Thomas Aquinas. Indeed, his philosophy of being is based on the act-potency relation between form and being, as well as on the real distinction of essence and being, derived from it. In this study we would like to face a double cha-llenge: that of justifying why an act of being is necessary in Thomistic metaphysics, and that of showing why this actuality (esse) is not identified with the existence or being of the thing, as the Thomistic school has pretended during its trajectory.
