Resumen de Volver a África: memoria, raza e identidad en narrativas afrolatinoamericanas

Esta ponencia propone una breve revisidn sobre la recuperacidn de la memoria cultural africana, la representacidn de la raza y las construcciones identitarias que surgen en los textos Un mensaje de Rosa de Quince Duncan y Changd, el gran putas de Manuel Zapata Olivella. A partir del analisis de estas obras y considerando las propuestas del afrorealismo latinoamericano, este trabajo busca abordar la importancia que tienen la recuperacidn de la memoria africana para los afrodescendientes, las implicancias que el racismo tiene desde su instalacidn durante la colonizacidn especialmente para las sociedades latinoamericanas, y la relevancia del mestizaje cultural y de las diasporas para la construccidn identitaria afrolatinoamericana.

This paper proposes a brief review on the recovery of African cultural memory, the representation of race and the identity constructions that emerge in the texts Un mensaje de Rosa de Quince Duncan and Changó, el gran putas by Manuel Zapata Olivella. Based on the analysis of these works and considering the proposals of Latin American Afrorealism, this work seeks to address the importance of the recovery of African memory for the Afro-descendants, the implications that racism has since its installation during colonization, especially for the Latin American societies and the relevance of cultural miscegenation and diasporas for the construction of Afro-Latin American identity.
