Resumen de «¿Y qué miras en esos libros?»: representaciones del saber y la mujer religiosa en las hagiografías castellanas de finales de la Edad Media

En este artículo nos proponemos analizar las representaciones del saber en las hagiografías de santas vivas castellanas de los siglos XV y XVI para entender su rol dentro de la construcción de este modelo de santidad femenina. Para dicho cometido, se estudiarán primero las diferentes referencias al libro, la oración y la lectura. A continuación, se examinarán las modalidades de escritura y sus varias manifestaciones. Finalmente, el estudio se concentraráe en la transmisión de conocimientos, es decir, el modo en que se describe la eventual formación de estas santas y su participación en las actividades de enseñanza.

In this article we propose to analyze the representations of knowledge in the lives of Castilian living saints of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in order to understand the role of these images in the construction of such model of female sainthood. For this purpose, we will first study the different representations related to books, prayer and reading. Next, we will examine the modes of writing and its various manifestations. Finally, the study will concentrate on the transmission of knowledge, that is, the way in which the eventual formation of these saints and their participation in teaching activities are described in the lives.
