Resumen de Mecanismos de supervivencia en la carrera del artista sumergido: las residencias artísticas

  En el contexto artístico actual, el sistema del arte no es capaz de responder al imparable crecimiento de la población artística situada en la base de la pirámide, lo que provoca un aumento de la competitividad en la horizontalidad, obligando al artista sumergido a emprender iniciativas establecidas como legitimadoras para ser competitivo y sobrevivir en ese complejo ecosistema.

  Los mecanismos de legitimación que son aceptados por el sistema artístico tradicional para otorgar la credencial de artista, están compuestos por diferentes variables, entre las que se encuentra la participación en residencias artísticas, que nacen con la misión de apoyar la producción y optimizar el desarrollo de las carreras artísticas y que se han convertido en uno de los méritos más importantes del currículo de los artistas en los últimos tiempos.

  A través del análisis de los datos extraídos de la base de datos de residencias artísticas Localizart, conoceremos el estado de estas iniciativas, descubriendo qué tipos de recursos ofrecen y su alcance para el artista, y si estos proyectos cumplen realmente con su misión de reducir la precariedad de la población artística.

  In today’s artistic context, the art system is unable to respond to the unstoppable growth of the artistic population at the base of the pyramid, which causes an increase in horizontal competitiveness, forcing to the submerged artist to undertake legitimate established initiatives in order to be competitive and to survive in that complex ecosystem.

  The mechanisms of legitimization that are accepted by the traditional artistic system to grant the artist’s credential are composed of different variables, including to participate in artistic residencies, which are actions born with the mission of supporting the development of artistic careers and which have become one of the most important merits of the artists’ curriculum in recent times.

  Through the analysis of the data extracted from the database of artistic residences Localizart, we will know the state of these initiatives, discovering what types of media they offer and their scope for the artist, and whether these projects really fulfill their mission of reducing the precariousness of the artistic population.
