    Butler’s work is largely influenced by psychoanalysis. Nevertheless, it is not without criticism that this relationship takes place, especially when problematized from gender theories. As a reader of Freud and Lacan, Judith Butler endeavors to inquire into many of the foundations of psychoanalysis theory. In this, not only the universality of the Oedipus complex but the primacy and inflexibility of the phallus are harshly criticized. Given Butler’s reading of Lacan, we will problematize the role of sexual difference and inflexibility of the phallus for the critique of heternormativity present in psychoanalysis theory. We will propose a reflection on symbolic law in Lacan, seeing their strong bonds to the heterosexual matrix of desire and gender binarism, which leads to the segmentation of different forms of kinship into intelligible and non-intelligible.

    A obra butleriana é amplamente influenciada pela psicanálise. Não obstante, não é sem críticas que se dá essa relação, especialmente quando problematizada a partir das teorias de gênero. Como leitora de Freud e Lacan, Judith Butler se empenha em indagar muitas das bases da teoria psicanalítica. Nisto, não só a universalidade do complexo de Édipo, mas a primazia e a inflexibilidade do falo são duramente criticadas. Diante da leitura que Butler faz de Lacan, problematizaremos o papel da diferença sexual e da inflexibilidade do falo para a crítica à heteronormatividade presente na teoria psicanalítica. Proporemos uma reflexão sobre a lei simbólica em Lacan, enxergando aí fortes vinculações à matriz heterossexual de desejo e ao binarismo de gênero, o que leva à segmentação das diferentes formas de parentesco em inteligíveis e não-inteligíveis.
