    El Palacio de Deportes de Oviedo (1961-1975) es una de las más impresionantes obras de ingeniería del siglo XX en España. En 2023, se acometió una gran intervención para rehabilitar el inmueble y adecuarlo a las necesidades del siglo XXI tanto en lo referente a cuestiones funcionales como a sostenibilidad. Se analizan en este trabajo tanto la importancia del proyecto del ingeniero Ildefonso Sánchez del Río como los planteamientos del proyecto restaurador, y la apuesta por recuperar propuestas del autor que en su momento no fueron viables, como la cubierta metálica. Asimismo, se da cuenta de las muchas reparaciones y reformas sufridas por el inmueble a lo largo de los años.

    The Oviedo Sports Center (1961-1975) is one of the most impressive engineering works of the 20th century in Spain. In 2023, a major intervention is undertaken to rehabilitate the building and adapt it to the needs of the 21st century both in terms of functional issues and sustainability.This work analyzes both the importance of the project by the engineer Ildefonso Sánchez del Río and the approaches of the restoration project, and the commitment to recover the author proposals that were not viable at the time, suchas the metal roof. It also gives an account of the many repairs and reforms suffered by the building over the years.

    Le Palais des sports d'Oviedo (1961-1975) est l'un des ouvrages d'ingénierie les plus impressionnants du XXe siècle en Espagne.
