    La patología adquirida del pie engloba un gran número de deformidades que abarcan desde el retropié hasta el antepié, incluyendo las deformidades de los dedos. Muchos de estos problemas son idiopáticos, con alguna carga genética y herencia familiar, e incluso están generados por patologías presentes al nacimiento pero que se ponen de manifiesto durante el desarrollo según van causando una alteración de la forma normal del pie del niño. Son un importante motivo de consulta, tanto en atención primaria, como en la consulta del especialista en ortopedia infantil. Si bien muchas de ellas son asintomáticas y se pueden considerar variantes de la normalidad, otras causarán dolor y limitación de la actividad diaria del paciente, así como problemas con el calzado. Por esto, es importante conocer esta patología, saber diagnosticarla y ofrecer el tratamiento conservador, ortésico o eventualmente quirúrgico, más adecuado.

    Acquired foot pathology encompasses a large number of deformities ranging from the retropetoe to the forefoot, including the deformities of the toes. Many of these problems are idiopathic, with some genetic load and family heritage, and are even generated by pathologies present at birth but that become evident during development as they cause an alteration of the normal shape of the child’s foot. They are an important reason for consultation, both in primary care, and in the consultation of the child orthopedist. While many of them are asymptomatic and can be considered variants of normality, others will cause pain and limitation of the patient’s daily activity, as well as problems with footwear. For this reason, it is important to know this pathology, to know how to diagnose it and to offer the most appropriate conservative, orthotic or possibly surgical treatment.
