    Durante el siglo XX en México se establecieron un conjunto de políticas por parte del Estado a fin de lograr la modernización industrial, la productividad del campo, la urbanización y una visión científica de la realidad. Esta perspectiva moderna buscó conformar las características corporales del mexicano, tanto en lo social como en lo individual (Enríquez). Pero ¿cómo se inserta el cuerpo discapacitado en dicha imagen de nación? ¿Qué ocurre con el cuerpo femenino cuando no cumple con las expectativas patriarcales de su rol? El siguiente ensayo tiene por objetivo analizar la imagen y autoimagen corporal de Frida Kahlo que se desprende de sus escritos personales. ¿Cómo marcó la enfermedad sus relaciones afectivas? ¿su autoimagen? ¿su sexualidad? A partir del concepto de autosomatografía y teniendo por premisa que mediante la investigación del cuerpo y del género desde una perspectiva histórica e interdisciplinar se puede entender la percepción y comportamientos tanto individuales como colectivos de nuestra identidad, es que revisaremos la relación entre cuerpo y escritura como una manifestación política en la que Frida Kahlo manifiesta una postura que muchas veces se contrapone a la expuesta en su famosas pinturas. Kahlo confrontó el estar en el mundo desde su cuerpo, interrogando la visión moderna del México de la posrevolución.

    During the 20th century in Mexico, a set of policies were established by the State to achieve industrial modernization, rural productivity, urbanization and a scientific vision of reality. This modern perspective sought to shape the body characteristics of the Mexican, both socially and individually (Enríquez). But how is the disabled body inserted in that image of the nation? What happens to the female body when it does not meet the patriarchal expectations of its role? The following essay aims to analyze the body image and self-image of Frida Kahlo that emerges from her personal writings. How did the disease affect her affective relationships? Her self-image? Her sexuality? Starting from the concept of autosomatography and having the premise that through the investigation of the body and gender from a historical and interdisciplinary perspective it is possible to understand the perception and both individual and collective behaviors of our identity, it is that we will review the relationship between body and writing as a political manifestation in which Frida Kahlo manifests a position that often opposes the one exposed in her famous paintings. Kahlo confronted being in the world from her body, questioning the modern vision of post-revolution Mexico.
