  • Resumen
    • The aim of the current paper is to approach the verb from the perspective of the bilingual translation. The verb is a linguistic category which raises a significant number of translation problems, in spite of the similarity between French and Romanian. It is precisely because of this reason that the present study is structured upon a contrastive study of the translation of the verbal tenses from French into Romanian. We will analyse a number of French texts, translated into Romanian with a view to highlighting the similarities as well as the linguistic differences existing between the verbal tenses in French and Romanian and to explaining the contrasts between the two languages under discussion. Another equally important aspect of the contrastive study is to identify the level of the French tenses to which the tenses of the Romanian language correspond, analysed through the lens of an accurate translation, in view of the large number of similarities between the two Romance languages.
