La República Centroafricana vive una situación que bien podría definirse como de crisis estable. Tras siete años al frente del Gobierno, el presidente Faustin-Archange Touadéra no ha conseguido revertir la falta de seguridad endémica ni proporcionar un desarrollo institucional y económico-social que permita ser optimista sobre el futuro del país.
Aunque el presidente Touadéra intenta mantener el vínculo con Europa y Estados Unidos, su relación con Rusia —y más concretamente la influencia que Moscú ejerce a través del Grupo Wagner— está suponiendo un escollo para la participación de Occidente en la búsqueda y desarrollo de soluciones a la crítica situación humanitaria y de falta de desarrollo. El presente artículo analiza algunos componentes de la situación política, económica y de seguridad del país centroafricano para facilitar su compresión.

Current situation in Central African Republic could be defined as stable crisis. After seven years as the head of the government, President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has not managed to reverse the situation of endemic lack of security nor to provide an institutional and economic-social development that allows us to be optimistic about the future of the country. Although President Touadéra is trying to maintain the link with Europe and the United States, the relationship with Russia, and more specifically the influence that Moscow exerts through the Wagner group, is hindering to the International Community to participate in the search and development of solutions to the critical humanitarian situation and the lack of development. This article analyses some components of the political, economic and security situation in the Central African Republic, presenting some conclusions that may facilitate the understanding of this situation.
