África sufre la presencia activa de grupos yihadistas salafistas en todas las subregiones que componen el continente. Al Qaida y el Estado Islámico (EI), los dos grandes actores liderando el yihadismo global hoy, están presentes en la región, compiten entre ellos pero a la vez refuerzan su presencia y dinamizan su modelo. En el Norte de África, en África Occidental y en África Oriental, grupos yihadistas clásicos han sobrevivido y se han transformado, y en África Central y Meridional han surgido grupos yihadistas nuevos.
Todos ellos desafían a los Estados y a organizaciones internacionales varias (UA, CEDEAO, SADC, ONU y UE, entre otras) que siguen diseñando respuestas para una amenaza cada vez más peligrosa y letal.

Africa suffers the active presence of Jihadist Salafist groups, acting in all the subregions belonging to the continent. Al Qaida and the Islamic State, the two biggest actors leading the global Jihadism today, are present in the region, they compete between them and in parallel they profit this competition for reinforcing their implementation and spreading their model. In North Africa, in West Africa, and in East Africa, classic Jihadist groups have survived and evolved. In Central and Southern Africa new Jihadist groups have emerged.
They all challenge States and International Organizations (AU, ECOWAS, SADC, UN, and the EU, among others) who continue to design answers facing a threat becoming more letal and dangerous.
