Resumen de Dinámicas históricas de expansión de las universidades privadas en la Argentina

  En el presente estudio se exploran y reconstruyen las dinámicas históricas que han impulsado la expansión del sector privado universitario en Argentina, así como la evolución de su cuerpo docente. Se analizan las principales tensiones surgidas en los distintos ciclos de reforma de la Educación Superior en el país. Así mismo, se identifican los principales factores que han influido en su crecimiento o ralentización, desde su creación hasta la consolidación actual, marcados por los cambios de gobierno y la influencia de sectores sociales en los diferentes momentos históricos en el marco de la compleja relación entre el estado, el mercado y la universidad, destacando cómo en las décadas más recientes ha habido una mayor convergencia entre estos actores. Inicialmente, los proyectos fundacionales del sector estaban mayormente impulsados por representantes de la religión católica, pero con el tiempo se diversificaron y ampliaron, involucrando a otros sectores de la sociedad, como militares, empresarios, políticos, científicos y académicos, quienes también buscaron influir en la creación de estas instituciones. Se concluye que, si bien el sector privado sigue siendo relativamente marginal en el sistema universitario argentino, ha experimentado un crecimiento constante y muestra una composición heterogénea en cuanto a las características e impronta de sus instituciones. Algunas de ellas han demostrado un mayor dinamismo para adaptarse a las políticas universitarias vigentes. Por último, a través del reclutamiento de investigadores y becarios del sistema científico tecnológico, ha logrado establecerse como referente en áreas específicas del conocimiento dentro del ámbito universitario nacional.

  This study explores and reconstructs the historical dynamics that have driven the expansion of the private university sector in Argentina, as well as the evolution of its teaching staff. The main tensions that have arisen in the different cycles of Higher Education reform in the country are analyzed. The main factors that have influenced its growth or slowdown are identified from its creation to the current consolidation, marked by changes in government and the influence of social sectors at different historical moments. Within the framework of the complex relationship between the State, the market and the university, highlighting how in recent decades there has been greater convergence between these actors. Initially, representatives of the Catholic religion mainly promoted the founding projects of the sector, but over time they diversified and expanded, involving other sectors of society, such as the military, executives, politicians, scientists and academics, who also sought to influence the creation of these institutions. The studies concludes that, although the private sector remains marginal in the Argentine university system, it has experienced constant growth and shows a heterogeneous composition in terms of the characteristics and imprint of its institutions. Some of them have shown dynamism by adapting to current university policies. Likewise, through the recruitment of researchers and scholarship holders from the scientific and technological system, it has managed to establish itself as a reference in specific areas of knowledge within the national unive sity environment.
