Conocimiento y percepción de jóvenes estudiantes en Trabajo Social sobre jóvenes extutelados

    Actualmente existe un incremento en el número de jóvenes que se encuentran en situación de emancipación jurídica sin autonomía social tras su salida del sistema de protección de menores a su mayoría de edad. Este colectivo se presenta en desventaja social y es propenso a la exclusión social. El trabajo social es clave para intervenir y cambiar esta realidad, pero se necesita más conocimiento y formación sobre este colectivo. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar el grado de conocimiento, y percepción por parte de los estudiantes del Grado en Trabajo Social sobre la situación de los jóvenes extutelados. Material y métodos: la presente investigación se lleva a cabo desde un enfoque descriptivo y observacional con la intención de acercar el conocimiento de los jóvenes ex tutelados desde otros jóvenes futuros profesionales de su intervención social. Se usa una metodología mixta con encuestas y un grupo focal en el que participan 250 estudiantes del Grado en Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Málaga. Resultados: se constata el desconocimiento percibido que los jóvenes participantes tienen de quienes con su misma edad proceden de experiencias vitales relacionadas con las migraciones y la desprotección. Ha sido posible identificar necesidades y estrategias formativas y de orientación que aún se pueden poner en marcha en el marco de la formación académica. Discusión: se identifica la necesidad de incluir y profundizar en el estudio y la intervención de los jóvenes ex tutelados para mejorar su inclusión social y su relación con otros jóvenes universitarios.

    There is currently an increase in the number of young people who find themselves in a situation of legal emancipation without social autonomy after leaving the child protection system at the age of majority. This group is socially disadvantaged and prone to social exclusion. Social work is key to intervene and change this reality, but more knowledge and training on this group is needed. The aim of this study is to identify the degree of knowledge and perception of students of the Degree in Social Work about the situation of young extuted. Material and methods: the present research is carried out from a descriptive and observational approach with the intention of approaching the knowledge of young ex-custodians from other young future professionals of their social intervention. A mixed methodology is used with surveys and a focus group with the participation of 250 students of the Degree in Social Work at the University of Malaga. Results: the perceived lack of knowledge that the young participants have of those who, at the same age, come from life experiences related to migration and lack of protection. It has been possible to identify training and guidance needs and strategies that can still be implemented within the framework of academic training. Discussion: the need to include and deepen the study and intervention of young people formerly under guardianship in order to improve their social inclusion and their relationship with other young university students has been identified.
