    El presente trabajo propone como objeto de estudio el uso que hace Georgiana Goddard King de los términos “baroque”, “rococo” y “churrigueresque” en su obra The Way of Saint James, en particular cuando se aplican a la arquitectura y a los retablos y cajas de los órganos. Descubriremos los errores que comete y los aciertos en la atribución de las obras, las dataciones y la asignación de los estilos. En definitiva, tendremos la oportunidad de comprobar su competencia y conocer su visión sobre una estética ajena a sus intereses y formación, teniendo en cuenta su vara de medir medievalista.

    The aim of this paper is to study the terms “baroque”, “churrigueresque” and “rococo” used by Georgiana Goddard King in her work The Way of Saint James, in particular when applied to architecture and to altarpieces and organ cases. We will discover the mistakes she makes and the successes in the attribution of works, dating and the assignment of styles. In short, we will have the opportunity to check their competence and be acquainted with her views on an aesthetic that is foreign to her interests and training, taking into account her medievalist yardstick by which she measures.
