  This paper studies the family and diplomatic correspondence exchanged between Spain and Portugal, during the short period of the marriage of the infant D. Gabriel de Bourbon and the infant D. Mariana Vitória de Braganza. The abundant letters exchanged between the two courts allow us to know the palace life during the end of the reign of Charles III, with an emphasis on marriages, pregnancies, births, entertainments and deaths. Advices, comments, questions, suggestions and many emotions are present, especially in family correspondence.

  O presente texto parte da análise da correspondência familiar e diplomática trocada entre as cortes de Espanha e Portugal, durante o curto período em que se negociou, concretizou e durou o casamento dos infantes D. Gabriel de Bourbon e D. Mariana Vitória de Bragança. As abundantes cartas permitem conhecer o quotidiano palaciano durante o final do reinado de Carlos III, com destaque para casamentos, gravidezes, nascimentos, divertimentos e mortes vividas na família real. Abundam conselhos, comentários, perguntas, sugestões e muitas emoções, especialmente na correspondência familiar.
