Resumen de Osservazioni sul rapporto tra metro e sintassi nelle canzoni di Sennuccio del Bene e Giovanni Quirini
This paper proposes a comparative analysis of the canzoni of two authors of the early 14th century who fall under the (very arbitrary) label of the socalled Tardostilnovismo: Sennuccio del Bene and Giovanni Quirini. The interest of this comparison lies not only in the observation of the differences that emerge in the syntactic treatment of the stanza di canzone, but also in the opportunity to investigate how two authors - active in a period between Dante’s groundbreaking season and the early production (and diffusion) of Petrarch’s lyric poetry - deal with a metre that plays, for both of them, a marginal role in their respective songbook.
