    En este artículo abordamos el problema de la desafección democrática como rasgo ineludible que estructura el escenario político presente. Para ello, realizamos un análisis sobre el ordenamiento institucional que produjo la modernidad occidental y su impacto en la subjetividad. En ese sentido, mostramos cómo los sujetos emergentes de las instituciones modernas se encontraron insertos en entramados identitarios colectivos que los dispusieron a ser representados. En efecto, fundamentamos que el funcionamiento de la representación política no puede comprenderse acabadamente si no se lo ubica en el armazón institucional moderno. Entendemos la crisis de estos dispositivos a partir de su pérdida de legitimidad como emisores autorizados de los modos en los cuales se comprendía y habitaba el mundo. En ese marco, los ideales que sustentaron la democracia representativa y las identificaciones colectivas que le daban sustento pierden sus significados históricos. Por ello, exploramos la transformación de ciertos significados que daban sostén a la vida en común y abrimos interrogantes sobre las posibilidades efectivas de que, en el presente, se logren altos niveles de satisfacción con las instituciones democráticas.

    In this article we address the problem of democratic disaffection as an unavoidable feature that structures the present political scenario.To do this, we carry out an analysis of the institutional arrangement that produced Western modernity and its impact on subjectivity. In that sense, we show how the emerging subjects of modern institutions found themselves inserted in collective identity frameworks that prepared them to be represented. In effect, we argue that the functioning of political representation cannot be fully understood if it is not located in the modern institutional framework. We understand the crisis of these devices from their loss of legitimacy as authorized transmitters of the ways in which the world was understood and inhabited. In this framework, the ideals that supported representative democracy and the collective identifications that supported it lose their historical meanings. For this reason, we explore the transformation of certain meanings that supported life in common and raise questions about the effective possibilities of achieving high levels of satisfaction with democratic institutions in the present.
