Resumen de Estrellas de mil puntas. Señales físicas del genio en el surrealismo

El presente artículo aborda el análisis de aquellos retratos de artistas surrealistas en los que su condición genuina es presentada a través de un símbolo físico, una estrella. Asumiendo aquella afirmación de Raymond Roussel, autor admirado por el movimiento, según la cuál “la estrella en la frente” era el distintivo corpóreo del genio, exploraremos el uso que hace el surrealismo de esta iconografía. Partiremos de la famosa fotografía de Marcel Duchamp en la que el autor aparece con una estrella tonsurada en la coronilla y la relacionaremos con otras imágenes del movimiento para evidenciar que la reflexión sobre la subjetividad artística iba más allá de este caso señero y que fueron muchos otros los que, como Duchamp, utilizaron la estrella para ello.

This article addresses the analysis of those portraits of surrealist artists in which their genuine condition has been presented through a physical symbol, a star. Assuming the statement by Raymond Roussel, an author admired by the movement, according to which “the star on the forehead” was the distinctive corporealism of the genius, we will explore why surrealism returns to this iconography. We will start from the famous photograph by Marcel Duchamp in which the author appears with a tonsured star on the crown of his head to relate it to others and show that the reflection on artistic subjectivity went beyond this notable case and that there were many artists who, like Duchamp, used the star for this.
